Trip to lundy

Posted by LB group member Brice Demory

I have beautiful conditions for trip to Lundy yesterday Thursday 8 September 2016. This place is an absolute gem. The runway is not as in a bad state as we can read. The runway has a humback shape but the first half of rwy 24 is in good condition and short field techniques work well. Aiming to touch down at the threshold thus worked well. I found when walking the runway that being 1/3 of the runway width to the south of the centerline provides the most level path. I would however avoid to use the 1/4 of the runway from threshold 06. A low pass is necessary for inspection and to push the sheep away.

The reward is beautiful walks, seeing gannets diving at high speed in the sea and seals playing near the coast ! I highly recommend it.
